Aastra Phones dropping registration after approximately 10 minutes Options

We've been helping a customer with his Aastra 9112i phone (although I think this setting is applicable to all Aastra's). The phone was losing its registration every 10 minutes or so and, not receiving incoming calls.

There's a setting on the Aastra called Session Expiration, which we would normally say to set to be 180 seconds, or 3 minutes. However, the Aastra's have a bizarre way of calculating this.

Essentially, there's a default session expiration setting, which is 3600. When setting the session expiration, you need to specify the number of seconds BEFORE this expiration when the re-registration is sent.

Because of this, set the Session Expiration to 3420 (3600 - 180 seconds) and, this will cure the issue.
